Meet Little Claire

I recently had a chance to attend a friends baby shower and meet baby Claire ~ Laura (Claire's mother) and I lived together for years in college and I couldn't be more excited for her and Nate ~ We will be doing a baby shoot tomorrow morning so be looking for more pictures of baby Claire!

A matter of perspective

So this week I've been going through a lot of my photos and trying to sort them and store them in a way that will make sense to me...I may need to find them one day!! When I was going through my photos to blog the first time around I overlooked this one of a chair in my parents dining room. I decided last night that I really liked the chair so I'm posting it . Also this week Shaun and I are watching my parents dog, Tasha (or Sasha, depending on who you talk to). She really is one o the best dogs in the world, even if she occassionally smells like old dog!!

JoJo's Shave Ice, Hawaii

Shelcie swears JoJo's has the best shaved ice in all of Hawaii ~ although I've had very limited experince with shaved ice I'd have to say its pretty darn good.

Takenouchi Christmas!

This Christmas I had the blessing and honor to spend it with my new family in Hawaii. I was amazed to be spending the holidays in the sun and with all new traditions. Glen and Karen were so gracious and kind. I ate sushi to my hearts content and enjoyed Christmas eve at Grandma Nora's house in Kapaa. Thank you to the Takenouchi's and I'm looking forward many years of holiday tradition!

Hawaii Road Trip!!

Whats a vacation without a road trip? Shaun and I took an afternoon and hit the road. Our destination..Jo-Jo's Shave Ice. We met up with Glen, Karen, Shelcie and Dane for some 100% pure Hawaii shave ice. Shelcie claims its the best on the entire island.

We spent part of Christmas eve at the beach...it was hot and we even got a little sunburned...later that week at that same beach we saw a real live whale. I loved how clear and warm the water was.

This is William, my parents cat. They also have my cat Neeka, who is beautiful but not very photogenic. William on the other had has these intense eyes and is willing to hold still long enough for me to take a picture...hope you enjoy!!

Winter Walk

We had about ten days this last December where it started snowing and didn't stop. I was amazed at the persistence of the winter weather but took the time to go out and enjoy the cold air. I also met some birds who were kind enough to model for me while I was on my winter walk.

2008 Mower Christmas

The Mower Christmas always proves to be a ton of fun ~ this year was no different. We had a couple new members with Shaun and baby Jocelyn. We had our traditional pancake "breakfast" and it snowed the entire afternoon, it was a Christmas to remember!

Snow Day Fun ~ December 2008

Might be a white Christmas after all!! The week and a half before Christmas this year there was snow and lots of it. Shaun and I decided to take a walk to get some pizza one of the nights we were snowed in ~ so I brought the camera along and had some fun ~ hope you enjoy what we captured.

The weekend before my birthday Shaun and I took a surprise adventure to Seattle where we went to Gameworks for the first time ~ We had a fun afternoon doing something new and enjoying the Seattle drive!

This last spring Shaun and I went to Cle Elum to visit my parents before our wedding. While we were there we took a day to go to Roslyn and spend the afternoon. We took our camera's and enjoyed the spring sun and here is what we capture from the day ~ hope you enjoy!

30th Birthday Surprise...

This last year brought my 30th birthday...i told my husband that he better have something pretty big planned. He didn't tell me anything about what we were doing for the weekend, not until the last minute did i learn that we were going to one of my favorite places on earth.

i spent 10 years in Bellingham, Washington and will always remember my time. i so enjoyed being able to celebrate my birthday with my husband in a place that i will always hold dear.

its a little past midnight, i'm waiting up for my roommate. she's been in Russia since last thursday. business trip.

the idea of throwing my thoughts out there for the world to read seems pretty strange if you ask me - i mean i don't generally do that. throw my thoughts out there, that is. i'm a private person, people usually have to work pretty hard to get something interesting about my life, thoughts, feelings, passions and dreams. i usually save that for my most private friend. the journal. those pages hold a lot of my pain.

so why start spilling all that emotion over the internet, where any person can just check it out? i honestly have no idea. maybe its that its "safely anonymous". kind of like talking to people on long plane rides. you know the kind of amazing coversation that you continue to visit in your mind years after that plane ride.

but for some odd reason...it haunts you. and you don't know how it stuck your soul. words are more powerful than people really give them credit for. amazing.

maybe its that i want to be connected. this is just another way to do it...

for reals this time.
